North Hollywood, Calif., March 17, 2010 – IPC The Hospitalist Company, Inc. (Nasdaq: IPCM), a leading
national physician group practice company, announced today that four hospitalists have been named IPC Hospitalists of the Year for 2009. The winners, in alphabetical order, are: Rafael Barretto, DO, Practice Group Leader, Michigan Region; Obinna Egbo, MD, Practice Group Leader, Phoenix Region; Robert Treadwell, DO, Practice Group Leader, Dallas/Ft. Worth Region; and Philip Vaidyan, MD, Practice Group Leader, St. Louis Region.

Selected by IPC’s senior management team, the award includes an honorarium to each of the four recipients.  Additionally, IPC will make a $2,500 donation to the charity of choice for each of the recipients. The donation will be on behalf of IPC as well as the facility in which each of the recipients serve.
