IPC The Hospitalist Company Expands into New Jersey

North Hollywood, Calif., June 11, 2009 – IPC The Hospitalist Company, Inc. (Nasdaq: IPCM), a leading national hospitalist physician group practice company, announced today that it has acquired the hospitalist division of Affiliated Medical Associates of Morristown, P.A. (AMAM). Based in Morristown, New Jersey, the acquisition establishes IPC’s first practice in New Jersey and expands the Company’s national presence to 19 states. IPC expects to add approximately 47,000 patient encounters annually from this acquisition.
Adam Singer, M.D., IPC’s Chairman and CEO, said, “We are very pleased to add AMAM’s hospitalist division to our growing group of practices in the densely populated northeast corridor. One of the AMAM partners, Peter Roytman, M.D., will serve as IPC’s Practice Group Leader for the group.
