North Hollywood, Calif., October 11, 2007 – IPC The Hospitalist Company, Inc. (IPC) today announced the implementation of a new a hospitalist program at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida, a 120-bed acute care hospital that is a member of the Manatee Healthcare System and a subsidiary of Universal Health Services Inc.
IPC will provide hospitalist services for medical/surgical patients including those admitted through the emergency department. Dr. Carmen Coiscou, a board certified internist with more than 6 years of hospitalist experience, was selected as the lead physician for the program and started full time at the hospital on October 1.
