    David Bowman, M.D. is one of eight Carondelet Medical Group hospitalists who joined forces with IPC in June 2000 to create the most dominant hospitalist practice in the greater Tucson area. With that affiliation, IPC nearly doubled the size of its five-year-old practice and now covers all area health plans and virtually all area hospitals. David founded Kachina Internal Medicine (later Carondelet Medical Group) in 1981. He is also one of the founding physicians and an active board member of Tucson Physicians Organization, a 110-member physician group formed in 1985 to develop organized healthcare-related ventures, including the foundation of a local HMO. In addition, he is a founding physician of Advantage Health Network and Strategic Medical Services, both in Tucson. He currently serves as medical director at Summit Hospital and is chief of staff at Cornerstone Hospital of Southeast AZ.  A former chief of staff at St. Mary's Hospital, David continues to practice part-time as a hospitalist while wearing his "Executive Director" hat. David received his medical degree, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science  from the University of Arizona.  He also completed his internship and residency training at University of Arizona's Health Services Center and is board certified in internal medicine.

    Cathy Pensak joined IPC September 2000. She has over 10 years experience in the development and management of health care delivery systems. Cathy's roots are in rural medicine and policy development, both at the state and national level. Prior to joining IPC, Cathy was involved with multiple managed care organizations focusing on network development and strategic planning. She spent 7 years in academic medicine, researching the impact of managed care, the development of successful provider networks and barriers to service delivery in rural and underserved communities.  Cathy has coordinated numerous community-based coalition efforts resulting in the expansion of health services for those targeted communities and has influenced state and national policy changes on their behalf. Her graduate work focused on the evaluation of successful implementation strategies of effective integrated delivery systems. Cathy’s undergraduate work is in international business from the Netherlands and management information systems. She holds a Master in Health Administration and Policy.

Babette Heller is a pioneer hospitalist recruiter who joined IPC in 1999, while the company was in its infancy. A Regional Manager of Physician Staffing, she has nearly 25 years of healthcare recruitment experience. Before her tenure with IPC, Babette gained valuable experience as a physician recruiter with Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, where she hired predominantly primary care physicians. Babette joined Kaiser after 10 years with CIGNA as its physician recruiter in Southern California. She began her career in healthcare recruitment at the National Medical Enterprises. Babette received her BA in sociology. from UCLA. She is an active member of the ASPR.
