When Fort Myers was platted in 1876, no more than 10 families lived in the original town. By 1885, it was the second largest town on the Gulf Coast south of Cedar Key.

John Geanes' career spans 30 years in healthcare administration and also in business development for companies that sell to or service healthcare organizations. John served as CEO for multi-unit health systems such as South Miami Health System and Shannon Health System, a fully-integrated delivery system in Texas. Most recently he served as vice-president of business development for RMS Services, a specialty contract management firm which transitions healthcare systems from manual, paper-driven records to electronic, paperless programs. John received his undergraduate education from Elon College in North Carolina, where he received a Bachelor in Business Administration. His hospital administration education was completed at the Duke Endowment Program in Charlotte, N.C. John also studied the British National Health Service at the King’s Fund College of Hospital Administration in London, for Duke University and the South Carolina Hospital Association. -

Richard Otto, M.D. joined IPC in October 2005 as Region Director for Southwest Florida when he merged his private hospitalist practice with IPC. He started his Southwest Florida hospitalist practice in 2000 as a solo practitioner and grew the practice to 5 hospitals and more than 20 hospitalists in 3 counties. He has been a highly recognized and accomplished practitioner of hospital medicine since 1989 and he continues to practice in Naples and Ft. Myers. Dr. Otto received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed an internal medicine residency in Greenville South Carolina followed by a one year critical care medicine fellowship in Chicago before going into private practice in Oregon and South Carolina. -

Kelly Lafata joined IPC in January 2008 after spending several years in the healthcare industry. Her experience includes all aspects of healthcare administration with particular emphasis on staffing, marketing, managing, credentialing and business development for several multi-physician practices in the Southwest Florida region. Her most recent position prior to joining the IPC team was as the administrator for three urgent care facilities which employed a total of 42 Physicians, Physician Assistants and a full support staff in all locations. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from University of St. Thomas as well as an Associate in Paralegal Studies from International College. Kelly continues to attend seminars and conferences related to both healthcare and business development to learn about the newest trends and practices in the industry. -
