Pittsburgh is considered one of the most livable cities in the U.S. In 2010, Forbes and Yahoo! ranked it number one. Historically known as a steel town, the city's economy today is more diverse and strong. Its neighborhoods retain an ethnic character that reflects its immigrant history.

  1. Education. Pittsburgh Public Schools believes that every student, at every level of academic performance–can achieve excellence.
  2. Real Estate. Pittsburgh has a low cost of living when compared to other cities in the northeastern U.S. and that includes the cost of housing.
  3. Family. Pittsburgh is a great place to raise a family, as reflected in the fact that it's the only city to finish in the top 20 in every edition of Places Rated Almanac.
  4. Culture. Pittsburgh is rich in arts and culture, including a symphony orchestra, opera, ballet, museums, galleries and theaters.

    Skip Strauchman joined IPC in April 2006 and is responsible for IPC's growth, development and ongoing operations in Michigan and Ohio. Most recently, Skip worked as an independent consultant, involved in strategic initiatives on behalf of both the Karmanos Cancer Institute and St. John's Hospital and Medical Center, both in Detroit. Previously, he served in an administrative capacity for Bon Secours Cottage Health Services in Grosse Pointe and immediately prior served as president and chief executive officer of SinaiCare Physician Hospital Organization in Detroit.  Skip holds a Master of Arts in Business Management from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University in Rochester. He is a member of both the American Academy of Medical Administrators and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
