The nation’s fourth largest city, Houston is a hub of international business located in southeast Texas.   1. Education. More than 30 independent school districts operate in Harris County, and many of them have received awards of excellence from the state of Texas.
  2. Real Estate. Houston offers excellent housing choices in both urban neighborhoods and outlying communities; housing costs are 26 percent below the national average.
  3. Family. Houston is a very family-oriented community; local activities and festivals catering to children and their parents are abundant.

Houston was founded in 1836, 10 years before Texas became a state, by brothers who paid just over $1.40 an acre for 6,642 acres of land near the headwaters of the Buffalo Bayou.

    Executive Director Fred Grates joins IPC, bringing 25 years of senior executive experience in healthcare organization and facility management. His experience includes hospital administration in both investor-owned and not for profit organizations, physician practice management, healthcare facility planning, design and construction, start up companies including privately owned and venture capital backed, pre-IPO organizations. Most recently, Fred was senior director of operations for Integrated Diagnostic Centers in Houston (formerly CORDA Medical Care) where he was responsible for all operational aspects of four owned and managed cardiology practices. Prior to this, he was one of two founding partners of XyMed Health Services Company in Houston. Fred received his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and received his MBA from Indiana University.  He is also a graduate of West Point Military Academy with a degree in engineering and has served in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps.

    Amy McLawchlin joined IPC as director of business development in January 2007. Her experience includes managed care, ICD-9 diagnoses and CPT procedural coding and analysis, JCAHO preparedness, as well as operations management.  Amy received a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management in May 2004 and a Master of Science in Health Administration in December 2006 from Texas State University in San Marcos. Amy is also a member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

    Connie Kaisler joined IPC in March 2007. She has over 19 years of healthcare experience which includes educating practioners, management, marketing and daily operations for both independent practioners and group practices.
    Prior to joining IPC, Connie was the practice administrator for the psychiatry clinic at Baylor College of Medicine. She began her healthcare career with an independent practioner handling daily operations. She worked at Baylor College of Medicine, St. Joseph's Hospital as a practice manager, and as an office manager for several independent practioners.
    Connie received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston.

    Jo-Ann Reilly joined IPC in June 2002 with over 17 years of experience in the healthcare field. Her experience includes all aspects of healthcare marketing, public relations, community relations and business development for both hospitals and large physician groups. Prior to joining IPC, Jo-Ann was director of hospital marketing for a large non-profit hospital group. Her experience also includes that of executive director for two large physician IPA’s in Houston.  Jo-Ann began her healthcare career in the planning department of St. Luke’s/Texas Children’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. She worked for American Medical International in the business development department, HCA Spring Branch Medical Center as a director of  marketing, and HCA Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, TX as vice president of marketing.  Jo-Ann has a Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Texas State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Patty joined IPC as the Director of Business Development for the St. Luke’s and the Methodist practice groups in Houston.  She began her career as a registered nurse in Baltimore, Maryland working at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She relocated to Texas and has worked at St. Paul Hospital (Dallas), Sam Houston Memorial Hospital (Houston), Spring Branch Medical Center (Houston), and Bayshore Medical Center (Pasadena).  Patty has served in several different capacities. The last 5 years she has worked in the field of risk management, most recently as the risk manager for a large acute care facility. Prior to this, she held positions as the director of the emergency department and the director of critical care.  Patty received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Randy Mitchell, a Regional Manager of Physician Staffing for IPC, has nearly 25 years of successful recruiting experience, including profit and not-for-profit physician recruitment. Prior to joining IPC, he was the recruitment director for a large, for-profit hospital system with more than 30 hospitals nationwide. His experience also includes a highly successful seven years recruiting for a private not-for-profit hospital in North Carolina, preceded by a 21-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served nearly 15 years with the Recruiting Service. Randy received a degree in personnel administration from the Community College of the Air Forces. He is the past president of the Carolina Association of Physician Services and an active member of ASPR.
