Brian Donovan, M.D. completed his internal medicine residency at University of Mississippi Medical School. A founder of Inpatient Medical Services, PC, the first hospitalist service in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1997, Dr. Donovan joined IPC in March 2006. Over his career he has served as a major in the United States Air Force, developed a medical charge entry PDA system, co-founded a successful hospitalist company that was acquired by IPC in March 2006, was president of a 30 member multi-specialty group during the 1990s and was president of an internal medicine group for which he negotiated its sale to a local hospital system. A member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Physician Executives and a charter member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, Dr. Donovan is a dynamic leader and experienced hospitalist.
